The Desk of Virginia Potts Pepper arrived promptly at the Stark mansion at 7 a.m. All was quiet in the house save for a cheery greeting from JARVIS. She dropped her laptop bag and purse on the kitchen counter and got some coffee to start brewing while she gathered her papers and announcements for Tony. "JARVIS? Where's Mr. Stark?" she asked, as she nibbled on a small muffin. "Mr. Stark is located in the workshop, Miss Potts." "Thank you, JARVIS," she replied as she tossed out the muffin wrapper, gathered up her folder files and headed down the stairs. "Morning, Tony. I have a revised contract with the Japanese clients that you need to look over before I finialize it and send off. Also-," she trailed off as she got nearer to him and saw how involved he was in whatever he was doing. "Tony? What are you working on?"
Current mood: cheerful. *The following entry is due to this article. It's been almost a week since my big promotion to CEO of Stark Industries. It's not nearly as overwhelming as I originally thought it would be. I actually already did most of this stuff, only now it's official. Not mention in the months that Tony was missing, I picked up most the slack. So there's nothing new and surprising to me. Except of course the pay check. Although most of the board members aren't pleased with this transition. When they politely asked Tony to step down due to his 'other obligations', I think they had someone else in mind to fill his shoes. But you know Tony. Once he has his mind set on something, there's no stopping him. I think that personally, I was the only one who he trusted with the position since I handled most of these affairs on my own anyway. Hopefully the board members will calm down and get used to it. If not, then they'll just have to deal because I'm not going anywhere. Speaking of replacements, Tony has already found someone to replace me as his personal assistant. Her name is Natasha Romanova and I personally think he could have chosen better. But something tells me it wasn't her resume that caught his attention. The woman is completely inappropriate for the work place and insists on dressing overly ostentatious to attract every pair of male eyes that she can. She also has a major attitude problem. But anytime I bring it up, Tony won't hear it. He calls me jealous. I don't know how he can think I'm jealous since I'm the one who ended up as CEO, but go figure. Oh, and on a personal note: don't think the color of her hair escaped me. The day was longer than Pepper wanted it to be. She got everything done earlier, but it just seemed that Tony was purposely piling on more for her. Not to mention his crankiness throughout the day was driving her crazy. But finally she sent in her last report to PR and closed down her computer and sighed in relaxation. She quickly left the office and raced home to get ready. She didn't wear anything amazing, just a skirt and nicer looking blouse. She freshened her make-up and fixed her and sprayed some new perfume. Just after she gave herself an approving once over, she heard the doorbell ring. When she answered it, she found Happy standing there. She smiled. Her day was finally looking up. "You ready?" I haven't updated my journal here in forever. If I'm ever online it's usually Live Journal or Twitter. But I nearly forgot about this one. Never fear, fo I have returned! It was two weeks since Pepper's first date with Tony. They continued to go out with keeping it all under the radar, but nothing drastic happened bewteen them. Which is why she decided that today was a good day to raise the level just a little bit. She entered his workshop same as she did very morning, only this time there was a little extra bounce in her step. She found Tony working on....well she didn't know what it was exactly but judging by the color, it must have something to do with the suit. "Morning, Tony." She bent down slightly to kiss his forehead and stood back up after placing the coffee mug on the table next to him. "Today is friday and your schedule is completely clear." That ought to get his attention. It was 7am sharp when Pepper arrived at Tony Stark's house. The house was quiet which was to be expected. She first walked into the kitchen, sat down her purse, laptop bag and strawberry smoothie and started up the coffee machine for Tony's morning cup. While it was working she took her bag and purse to her small office upstairs and set up her laptop and left her purse there, pulling out her blackberry to keep in her pocket. She also took a few papers she printed out last night that needed to be signed and reviewed by him. As she re-entered the kitchen she drank the rest of her smoothie, threw it away, then fixed Tony his cup. She gathered it and the folder of papers and headed down to the garage where she usually found him. To her surprise, though, he was not tinkering away at some new project like he always is. Instead, he was passed out on the worn out couch in the same clothes that she had left him in. She smiled a little to herself. She liked how peaceful he was when he slept; a stark contrast to the hurricane he can be when he's awake. She sat the coffee down on a nearby worktable and walked over to him. Suddenly last night's conversation flooded her mind and she hesitated for a moment. Then she shook her head of it and gently shook his shoulder to wake him. "Mr. Stark? Tony? Wake up," she whispered. |
